MARK AND WENDY WILSON GIVEN INAUGURAL WISH SPIRIT AWARD

Connecticut Make-A-Wish introduced a new award at their annual gala on April 30, 2011, held at the Mohegan Sun. The first honorees were Mark and Wendy Wilson of The REACH Foundation. The award, to be presented annually, honors a "person, persons, organization or company that has demonstrated exceptional dedication" to the Make-A-Wish mission and the children they serve. REACH TEAMS UP WITH UNIVERSITY OF MEMPHIS MEN'S BASKETBALL

This past February while on vacation, Mark Wilson and family had the pleasure of spending time with several members of University of Memphis Men’s basketball team. Mark was impressed with the manner in which they conducted themselves, the way in which they interacted with each other, and the courtesy and respect they showed the other guests, including his family. He could tell they were fine young men and were supported by a coaching staff that made sure that they remained that way.

The REACH Foundation’s “Out of the Blue Award” was presented to the team. This award demonstrates the positive impact people can have on each other and in their communities. REACH also decided to donate $2.00 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, located in Memphis, for every point scored in this 2010-2011 season. The team finished the season with a total of 2,524 points -- making it through several rounds of the NCAA tournament! Congratulations to the University of Memphis Basketball team, a recipient of The REACH Foundation’s “Out of the Blue” award.
